Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and Cause-Related Marketing (CRM)
Partnership for a Drug-Free NC, Inc. is the North Carolina alliance for The Partnership for a Drug-Free America. We work closely with broadcast and print media in many North Carolina markets to place nationally produced, but locally relevant, public service announcements that encourage the rejection of substance abuse.
Twice a year The Partnership releases new spots which address trends in substance abuse (i.e. prescription drug abuse, methamphetamine, heroin, steroids). Ad agencies and actors donate all the production cost to The Partnership for a Drug-Free America. Therefore, local alliances do not pay for media space or time. Media in North Carolina run our public service announcements as a part of their community support efforts.
A custom-tagged PSA is known as Cause-Related Marketing. This program allows media partners to sell our PSAs to clients interested in aligning themselves with the drug-free message. Some media outlets also use them as "value added" components to close a sale. To learn more about these media tools, contact Robin Lindner, Communications Director, at rlindner@drugfreenc.org or (336) 575-3493.
